“Smart giving” enables you to give your tithes and offerings by way of text and online giving. The option of giving to the 2016 church budget (tithes) or to the fall festival is available. In addition to traditional ways of giving, we are now offering “Smart giving” where you can give by way of texting or giving online. You will need a cell phone for both types of giving.

Text Giving

How do I set up a text-giving account?

To securely make a gift, text GIVE to (205) 379-0717.

When you send your first text gift, you will be sent a link to a secure, encrypted page to enter your name and credit or debit card information. You may choose to store this information for later use which will make subsequent giving as simple as sending a text (with no further form to fill-out). You can also set up scheduled gifts to occur weekly, twice monthly, or monthly. However, it is not mandatory to create an account and store your information.

Your credit card information not saved on your mobile phone, it is stored on a server to Level 1 PCI compliant standards. Level 1 PCI is the highest possible rating. Additionally, all transmissions are encrypted via an HTTPS connection.

After you are set up, you just text the amount you want to give (you don’t need to text GIVE anymore). Also, remember to save the phone number to your phone Contacts.

You can text EDIT to update your information, set up a recurring gift, or check the status of a gift.

What if I accidentally text the wrong amount?

When you make a donation, you will receive a text confirmation that re-states your gift amount. If you made a typing mistake you can respond with the word “REFUND” within the first 15 minutes and your credit or debit card will not be charged. After 30 minutes you can contact Kindrid Giving by email at and a refund can be issued for you.
